Sock yarn of the month

I love hand-dyed sock yarn. I love looking at the different colours that are out there. But instead of joining a sock club, I thought I could do my own thing instead and try a different yarn company each month. This month's yarn is from Fyberspates.

It's in a colourway called 'low tide'. I thought the green would be a bit darker and when I opened the package, I was a bit unsure at first, but by the time I wound the yarn into balls, I really liked it. I can't wait to cast on with it and I think given the length of each colour block it should stripe, rather than pool. I can't capture the colour very well - it is less blue in reality.

I bought some other yarn as well and I am thinking going on a yarn diet. Not a full-blown one, but just stick to my sock yarn of the month for a while maybe. And of course yarn for the Christmas gifts I have planned (I know it's crazy, but I got to start by the middle of summer, otherwise I will not be finished with them on time!). The summer sales and my trip to the states are both coming up, both of which are likely to result in buying more yarn... But the flat is slowly being taken over by yarn and my knitting, not to mention the amount of money I've been spending.
